Within the framework of promoting social development for digital inclusion, at CINTEL we have designed a Model of Social Appropriation of ICT for Digital Inclusion that aims to improve the competitiveness of the productive activities of farming communities and various economic sectors, providing skills and scenarios for digital inclusion, as part of the Digital Transformation strategy.
This model contemplates the development of an ICT Training and Education Program, which includes business practices and the development of new economic activities to increase income and productivity, as well as the use of mobile devices with Internet connection to take advantage of an application for the specific economic activity, to promote the economic and social development of vulnerable communities.
The Model of Social Appropriation of ICT for Digital Inclusion is a tool that can be used by different entities / companies / organizations that are concerned about the welfare of the communities where they develop their operations.
It is conceived as a strategy that allows not only to comply with the Corporate Social Responsibility of organizations, but goes beyond, by generating Shared Value among the stakeholders involved (direct and indirect).
On the other hand, this model is geared towards gender inclusion, since it also contemplates the participation of women in the training processes, in order to empower them with knowledge and make them multipliers of it, making their role in society more and better visible.
This model is replicable in different cultural contexts, economic activities and geographical areas.

Cartagena Grows Innovating
The incorporation of ICT as a fundamental element for citizen welfare has an excellent example in the “Cartagena Crece Innovando” initiative, in which CINTEL, thanks to the various cooperating partners, has not only supported a community of 30,000 people in unfavorable conditions improving their standard of living thanks to ICT, we have developed the impact evaluation methodology that has allowed us to clearly identify the benefits of the project in the community.
This initiative has received several national and international awards, and the experience gained in this unique scenario allows the Center to accompany companies in their Corporate Social Responsibility projects with a new approach to ICT-supported community support.
